I am doing a body off resto on my 64 impala, and am trying to get the new coil springs on the front. Every time I try to compress the springs they either bend or the last time they just snapped off the compresser. I rented the compresser from action auto,and it is a brand new one, what am I doing wrong? I dont wont to kill myself. Thanks Pete.

I finally got my coil springs on , with a little help from my son and a few let go's we got them on.I think there has to be a safer tool available, to do the job. Pete'''
