I'm in the process of hopefully fixing my bent tranny pan and getting it to stop leaking. I bought gasket maker (which I heard has it's drawbacks and was wondering if there's a chance of some of it squezzing into the tranny pan when i tighten it up. I'm aware not to make it too tight but am not sure EXACTLY how much to use and how tight to make it. I was thinking about 1/4" bead and maybe a turn past finger tight. Next question, I noticed 3 hoses next to the tranny filter. 2 of which are connected into sockets and the 3rd isnt. There's a 3'rd hole in the housing and I was wondering it it was supposed to be in there. Is it a drain/intake hose or should it be connected? Thanks

What type of car is it?

Laying it on a hard level surface and checking for any gaps will probably be the best way to see where it is bent, and even then, I'm not sure trying to straighten it will work so well. Maybe you can find a part at the junk yard? Then use the regular gasket for the pan.

For your hose question, I'm not sure, but it sounds like it should be in there.
