I recently learned that Honda issued a TSB, number 93-051, issued December 17, 1993 regarding a common problem that cause the door locks to stop working when the door harness connector gets corroded. My 1993 Honda Civic LX Power Locks have just stopped working. Checked the fuse and wires for any damage, neither have physical damage, fuse is not blown. Locks can be manually used. Any one have a DIY guide for replacing the connector or troubleshooting the door lock system? I am well versed on Aircraft electrical systems and can find my way around schematics and wiring diagrams. The only thing I need is the repair info or whatever other advice anyone can offer..Thanks

I had a problem on my 97 Grand Prix where the power windows stopped working on the driver door. It turned out that it was because of a bad switch in the door. This could be another possibilty for your problem.

Take a multi-meter and start tracing voltage from the lock back until you find where the voltage starts to show up. Then you can find the bad component. If it is the connector, cut it out, twist wires together, solder, wrap with tape or use shrink tube. The only reason Honda uses connectors or any auto mfg is due to ease of installing. Its quick and cheaper than soldering.
Good luck
