I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic that all of a sudden last night decided that it was going to not give power on occasion to the AC, the radio/clock, the Speedometer, the Engine Temp guage, or the automatic headlights (maybe others included, but those are the things I noticed). Just about a week or two ago I had an oil change done and they told me that one of my rear lights was out and they replaced it. A year ago or so the honk when you lock the doors went away (the lights still flash). Just immediatelly propr to the intermittent electrical cut-off to all those devices, the stereo would cut in and out on the front speakers and the door chime would be faint, or inaudible (the chime that comes on when the key is still in the ignition when you open the driver door). I think that other than being all related to electrical power, they might also have another common link that is an underlying problem creating the latest problem.

Now when I say intermittent, I mean that today, I took the day off work to see the extent of the problem, and I have noticed that the key in the ignition while car is on and running, if I jiggle it enough, the power returns to the inoperable devices and sometimes stays until next start, sometimes it stays for a couple restarts. but the common thing there is the ignition where you put the key in also has electrical control and power. AND OF COURSE the FIRST FIRST thing I did was check fuses and what-not of the like. Any opinions as to whether it is more likely the BCM or the ignition switch or something else? : Dusty - dirtycar74(at)hotmail(dot)com
PS Sorry if this seems like a long post for an initial question.
