Date posted: 10/07/2005 9:14 pm  Subject: 2001 Avalon XL - Rattle in Steering Column/Dash
We made an offer to buy from a Toyota dealership a 2001 Avalon contingent upon them fixing a prominent rattling sound which seems to come from the steering wheel/column or dash area. The car is beautiful, but this is an annoying sound which I don't think I could live with for the money. It's taken them 2 days now to only tell us that they've taken the steering column and dash apart and so far can't find the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? And, any solutions?
