Your New Car Is Worth The Best written by: rhiebert
Lucky new-car owners have options in the choice of engine and drive train lubricants, related oil & air filtration and products like car polish and leather & vinyl-leather cleaner and protectant.
Synthetic lubricants reduce operation and maintenance expenses, something all family car owners can use. The 3,000 mile oil change is gone with the horse & buggy. Most Owner's Manuals show that 8,000 kms or as in the case of U.S.A. the 5,000 mile O.C.I. or six months (whichever comes first). I use a synthetic lube that is warranteed for 12,000 kms or six months, whichever comes first. I'm not taking a chance on driving it to it's max but had an oil analysis done after 13,000 kms. and it came back "OK, good until next service". When going to a drive thru oil change place, choosing what the tech offers may not be the wisest choice. When the weather is -0 F, which isn't that cold but you can feel it bite, your transmission will tell you that it would rather stay in bed. Synthetic ATF is the best thing you can do to keep out of the poor house and the most expensive repair. Consider using superior filtration products that keep these superior lubricants longer, consequently saving you money, that's what intelligent car care is all about. If you want to keep that new car scent, use the vinyl and leather cleaner and protectant that keeps stains and water from taking hold. I used such a product and discovered a melted glob of snow was not absorbed after sitting all night. Using top notch car polish soon after you take delivery of your 2006 set of wheels, will save you time and money keeping the exterior finish in optimum condition. My wife loves the aerosol waterless spray when her car just needs a touch-up before she goes to the office. Your new car is a work of science so why not use the scientific products proven to match it.
